Is this cute cottage in Iceland really the smallest house on Zillow?

This charming elf home overlooks a dordle mesmerizing panorama of grass and people walking past. The listing describes the property as "a little (we mean really little) slice of paradise that you could call your own for the attractive price of 18 tiny bits and bobs (or best offer)" and notes that the "pint-sized" home comes with "Skyr insurance" in the form of a full-sized refrigerator of Icelandic Provisions skyr and a reward of $10,000.

Tiny faux-fur rugs, a sleeping bench, patchwork blankets, wooden furniture, and matching tile floor and worktops are all within, giving the impression of a typical Icelandic household. There is a stone fireplace in the living area, and the walls are covered with little paintings and pictures. Zillow has some interesting real estate listings, from rare architectural wonders to the just plain weird. (There's even a well-followed Instagram account dedicated to recording them.) Today, however, is the first day that bids may be placed on a completely equipped elf home.

The skyr firm Icelandic Provisions offered the one-bedroom, one-bathroom property as part of a marketing push. The two-square-foot home is as adorable as something out of a children's book, with its bright red exterior and mossy roof. Make an offer on the elf house at elfrealtor.com. You don't have to worry about actually paying for the home, since the bids range from "six pairs of mini shoes" to "14 small rocks." If you want a shot at winning the prize, you need to get your offer in before November 30 at midnight.

"We're so excited to bring a mix of possibility, Icelandic lore, and some lighthearted fun to fans everywhere looking to become homeowners," Dan Hickle, the company's chief marketing officer, said in a press release obtained by Travel + Leisure. (In 2007, 62% of Icelanders were found to believe in elves in a poll conducted by the University of Iceland; nowadays, you can see miniature elf houses built up all throughout the nation.)
